In 2024, the owner of The Obsidian Flower Bookshop attended an indie author signing that sparked an idea. What started as a love for blind date with a book boxes quickly evolved into a mission to spotlight indie authors while sharing that passion with readers everywhere.

By January 2025, with the support of fellow book lovers and creators, owner Jayme B. launched a monthly book box subscription dedicated to pairing readers with unforgettable stories. Since then, the brand has grown into collaborations with incredible authors, a thriving reader community, and regular pop-up shops.

Even through a name change, Jayme has continued building her vision through social media, events, and curated experiences, with the ultimate goal of opening a brick-and-mortar bookstore in Michigan one day.
